Summary

Biography

Despite a difficult knee injury in the District Tournament, Ly’Nasha was Monroe’s third-leading scorer with 13.4 ppg.  A well-rounded point guard, Ly’Nasha led Monroe with 3.0 apg in her freshman year.  Once the knee heals, Coach Robinson expects Ly’Nasha to add a vital piece Monroe’s attack that, despite winning the national tournament, was sorely missed in the title run.  She’s a tenacious player, especially on defense, where she can hold her own one-on-one as well as switch and move in Monroe’s pressing concepts. On offense she has that quick first step that makes her a danger - opening things up for her teammates on a regular basis.
 
Ly’Nasha played with former Mustang Kashay Barnes in high school. She started playing ball in eighth grade, which means she played varsity ball for 5 years. In the state championship game, she scored 19 points and five assists, winning the MVP. In the MVAL (Monocacy Valley Athletic League) she was a First-team All-star in 2007-08, was honorable mention in 2008-09, made the second team in 2009-10 and the first team last year. The Washington Post named her to their all-star team, too.
